    Hello Experts,

I liked the below TV from currys.
    Its LG 60" UH850V.
LG 60UH850V Smart 3D 4k Ultra HD HDR 60" LED TV

However i find very less reviews about this tv in the internet.

I have loads of movies in ext hrd disk, mostly .mkv

But i was told that LG doesn't support all .mkv files that i downloaded via internet.
    it checks for copyrights!!:nono:

is this true did anyone try this?

Till date i used samsung UE7500. this tv was fantastic and played every downloaded movie from USB(1080P,4K,3D).
However now it has problems with USB, it returns to home while playing the videos from USB.So returned it.

Please provide your inputs and share your experiences about the above LG tv and how it responds to USB video files from the net.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers
    Eva

I have the LG uh49850v I brought it Christmas eve morning in the curry's sale...bang for buck it's brilliant value for money, the passive 3D is stunning as it's full HD and I have invested a lot of money in 3D Blu-ray films since 2010 so I'm not ready to give up on it yet! It has freeview HD and satellite channels in HD...it's not the full HDR experience but it's more then good enough for me...I think it reaches upto 450nits peak brightness so less then half of the 1000 nits required for ultra HD alliance badge...also has Dolby vision that looks good on Netflix...you do need to play about with the picture settings to get the best out of it.But there is plenty of help on these very forums.Hope this helps you.

    Hi dts,

    Thanks for your response.

i need to choose between the below two options.

LG 60UH850V Smart 3D 4k Ultra HD HDR 60" LED TV
    LG 60UH850V

    or

PANASONIC VIERA TX-58DX802B Smart 3D 4k Ultra HD HDR 58" LED TV
    PANASONIC VIERA TX-58DX802B

Like i mentioned my main requirement is to play movies using USB, movies that are downloaded from the net or shared from friends.

    1) Could anyone please suggest which TV in the above support more video/audio formats!

    2) Did anyone use any of these tv's to play movies that are downloaded for free from internet.

    Please suggest.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers
    Eva

    Hello,

I decided to take my usb with my video files to the currys store and tried on both Panasonic and LG.

LG played all my videos - mkv, avi, 3d.(all downloaded from net).

Panasonic did not play avi files and some of my mkv files.

I tested with 10 types of files.

    Finally choose LG tv.

    Thanks everyone.

    Regards
    Eva
