Is your receiver connected to the TV via HDMI 2 and does it support ARC/eARC? I may be wrong but you should be able to use ARC here to achieve the same thing with needing an optical cable (I think!)

hi jackal try these settings on your amp and TV, you shouldn't need an optical with your set up connect hdmi 2 TV to monitor 1 on denon amp then use these settings on amp an TV and let me know how it goes

Got it working with an optical cable. Tried arc, gave up as I couldn’t get it to work but probably my bad.

Just wondering if anyone uses a light strip around this tv. Was going to put my Hue light strip on it but was concerned whether along the top were vents, or the speakers. If they’re speakers, I’ll be fine as I use my amp.

Use a medialight flex mk but had to adapt for wall fitting

Still not quite getting it, don’t think I have the setup right. To get 120fps I have my Xbox series x going into hdmi. All other sources are going into the telly via the Denon amp via hdmi1 so there is no physical link between the Xbox and amp. Hope I am making sense.

Try hdmi 2 on tv ,which is Earc out of tv , connect hdmi from there to monitor 1 on denon amp , not hdmi 1 , then connect ,all other sources to amp , you should only have one hdmi cable from tv to amp , let me know how you get on

May have missed this, what amp do you have?

Terb is right though I think, hdmi 2 on tv to Monitor 1 on the amp using his settings for (e)ARC. Any app or source connected to thenTV should then be able to use ARC to pipe the sound back to the amp.

I have a Denon avr-x7200wa. So i am going to leave the xbox going into hdmi4. The denon with all other sources i will switch to hdmi2 and use the arc input on the amp. Hopefully that will give me atmos. Does the amp just recognise arc once the settings are done right ?

Update, still no go. I can get arc from the sources going into hdmi2 but not for the Xbox which has hdmi3 to itself. Followed the very useful pics but still no sound.

so you should have hdmi 2 from tv to monitor 1 on amp , all other sources should go to amp direct sky to hdmi 1 , blu ray to hdmi 3 , xbox to hdmi 4 marked game, this should give you all you need , just check sound output settings on xbox , all other settings as the pics I put up in earlier post

Ok thanks, looks like I need to choose between better sound or 120fps. Or better still beg the wife for a more modern amp. How brave am I ?

Yeah just looked at your amp online , i believe its a 2015/16 model , if so thats the problem ,yeah a new amp would do wonders with the tv

Cleaning the screen on my 65GX today with a microfiber cloth and noticed the screen makes a noise all along the bottom when pressed, particularly in the right, sort of like is it not glued to the back properly. Does anyone else’s do this?

yes mine did this and when i did press it down, it never turned on again.

Hi Guys new member here. I've had my Gx65 oled and gx soundbar for about 3 weeks now. Got the bundle for £2800 and saved £400 Also bought the lg rear speakers for £150. Which makes all the difference. My mate came up last week and watched a few movies and play spider man and COD on the ps5. Now he wants it too. But it seems currys have stopped the bundle.

My LG GX 65 is hardwired to an Ethernet port and every now and then I get this pop up on screen... This isn't my actual TV in picture but exactly the same error together with error code and host name.

Checking on the switch, there are no issues with the interface etc and if I load up youtube it seemingly works fine. I think the error has something to do with prime. Just wondered if others had seen this.

Do you use Ubiquiti Networking gear by any chance?
