LG have a high profile at the moment don't they? :) Not really a surprise IMHO - they have obviously invested in the 'dual' setup and now want to market it. Hopefully this drive will spur rivals Samsung and Liteon to follow sooner rather than later - there must be a degree of depression in those offices what with the bombardment of LG news.

Anyway good news for all of us. LG make good PC drives as well IMHO :smashin:

Wow LG have been busy little bunnies :)

I guess it's not that hard to combine DVD/BD/HD-DVD reading if you can stick a burner in there too!

Too expensive.I'll wait for a HD-DVD writer thanks very much.In the meantime my current HD-DVD drive for the PC will suffice.
LG's decision to go dual will just confuse things and as someone pointed out elsewhere stagnate the takeup of HD in general.

Blurry should be hung drawn and cut up into little tiny pieces.Sorry I get carried away, but Sony and it's followers annoy me to hell!

fanboys of any type annoy me, there's no need for your comments, they are childish as are a lot of posts in Blu-ray and HD-DVD forums. It's pathetic.

I was just posting so people were aware of what's happening

And how the hell is something that can play both formats going to confuse people and slow down the sale of HD?

Your absolutely right Nick.I apologise for what clearly was a comment made before my brain was fully engaged. It was a dis-respectful slur against members who express views held in good faith. They are fully entitled to these views without being abused.
In retrospect I understand why my fellow forum member mmace was annoyed.Lets face it we would not be contributors unless we felt emotive about these things at times.
He of course came back with the perfect repost, and I deserved it.
In future I will sublimate my energies into more constructive and resonable argument.

Just a shame it doesent support full iHD then. The show pictures show all the warner menus are player generated and not thru ihd. evidently LG has promised warner etc that later universals will support full iHD.

So even this uni is not fully uni. Seems to fully support the Blu ray features as far as it can at present as it was originaly a blu ray only machine.

So dont get it if you want full iHD interactivity. (unless that changes before launch but it very well might not)

it doesn't need to support it, it just reads the disc, it's then down to the software you use to support the features (which I believe that PowerDVD Ultra does)

are you confusing this PC drive with the standalone player?
