hey guys have a 60 inch lg dlp and the optical generator **** itself so the guy came and changed it and the lamp under warranty but he did not know how to reset the lamp hours and as i had 4800 hours on the old lamp i would like to know how to set the lamp hours back to zero so i know how many actual hours the lamp has done

tried ringing lg and they seem to think its all secret squirrel stuff but as i pointed out that if i,m gonna spend that much on a tv then i really dont have many quarms about replacing the bulb every 10 000 hours i just want to reset the the thing

Try phoning Barron McCann in Derby who look after LG DLP's - replaced my bulb within warrant on the LG44sz21RD . The technical people are very approachable and gave me a lot of info on the set

number +441332866935 or direct to technical 01332866562

    regards

I've posted more detailed instructions on resetting the lamp hours on an LG DLP (RU44SZ61D) TV here:

    http://willus.com/author/dlptv.shtml

    which I re-cap here:

    1. With the TV on, press and hold the MENU button on the TV front panel.
    2. While holding that button, press and hold the MENU button on your remote.
    3. Hold both buttons for ~5 seconds until the service menu comes up on the TV.
    4. Release the remote MENU button first, then the TV MENU button.
    5. Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV front panel.
    6. While holding that button, press and hold the MUTE button on the remote.
    7. Hold both buttons until the Lamp Life Hours show up on your TV screen.
    8. Release the MUTE button first, then the ENTER button on the TV front panel.
    9. Make a note of the lamp hours if you want.
    10. To reset the lamp hours, press the SELECT button (the one between the four arrow keys with two concentric circles on it) on your remote.
    11. It will ask you to confirm the reset--press SELECT again to confirm.

To verify you've reset the hours, you can repeat steps 1-9 above and then just press the EXIT button on your remote.

That last post was right, except that steps 5 and 6 need to be switched around. Press and hold the mute button first, then press and hold the enter button.

    Hey guys,
I have a LG 62DC1D-AB projecter tv. I have the same problem with mine, although I have read and followed each step several times but hasn't worked? When the life hour counter appears I confirm by pressing the ok button on the remote and it comes up with initializing? I confirm by pressing ok again, although it does the same and switches off? If anyone has any solution to this and could help me it would be much appreciated. Thanks :)
