LG Infina LE8900/8500 question

Just bought this TV from Richer Sounds after reading many great reviews about it. Not set it up yet because I'm waiting for delivery of a new stand but after unboxing it to check for any damage I noticed, apart from the tech stickers, the glass screen seemed to have a protective plastic film over it.

Can any one with an Infinia offer some advice as to whether this is for transportation protection or part of the design as it looks pretty well applied rather than full of bubbles as usual for temporary protection.

Don't want to pull it off and find it has a purpose. :suicide:

Thanks, Gazza.

Don't (try to) remove that! -it is not for transportation protection.
