I think the model number is 9900 and according to the writing on the player it upscales as well. Has anyone bought or seen one of these £99 players in action.

Cheers. I'm going off it already as their website says upscaling to 1080i but nothing is mentioned on 720p. I'm off to read the thread link you posted........

    Lo all.
just to let u know i bought one of these dvd/divx players from Dixons, i bought it mostly for the Divx playback and the hdmi connection.
But to answer your questions,it does output 720p ,its very slimline, and it plays mp3,avi,divx,xvid,dvd,vcd,svcd,and windows media audio files.
Now for the bad news, like the thread states, its a £100 player. And sadly cheap price equals cheap performance.
the build quality aint too hot neither, the drawer is so flimsy and thin that at first glance i thought it was a slot loading drive.
That aside though it plays what it says it does and it does so for a rock bottom price, just dont be selling your older pioneers, denons to buy one . :suicide:

The LG 9900 appears to be an older model.

Look for a LG 9921, I purchased one here in Australia, it might be thin but it performs excellently, at 720P and 1081i plus many other innovations, including HDMI.!

And a slot loading draw that works admirably.

    PQ is superb. :smashin:

    No LG bashing required :nono:
