LG GX Audio (XBOX - LG - Receiver)

Hi all,
I have the Xbox series x, LG GX TV and RX-V475 Receiver.
I am trying to get 5.1 audio to the receiver and the 4k120 signal to the TV.
The receiver will not accept HDMI 2.1 bandwidth so that has to go straight from Xbox to TV.
No I’m trying to get the 5.1 audio to the receiver.
My thinking was that I could run an optical from the TV to the receiver.
Which has been able to fetch 2.1 audio, but not 5.1.
When I try to select 5.1 on the Xbox settings it says it is not possible.
Is there some setting I need to change on my LG TV to enable it to give the 5.1 audio to the optical?
Or does the LG TV only accept a 2.1 signal from the HDMI?
I‘m trying to avoid buying a new 2.1 compatible receiver to be honest.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

Managed to get bitstream 5.1 audio back through the optical.
However there is bad lag with bitstream audio on the series x :(

This device is what you need, it will allow eARC PCM 5.1 to be used with the TV and your current receiver.

PCM is the lowest latency audio format, Dolby on LG is known for being quite laggy depending upon the hardware combinations.

One other thing you can try is make sure Atmos is disabled (remove Dolby access app) and you send plain DD 5.1 over HDMI-ARC or optical, Atmos uses a virtual upmixer that adds lag.
