      @Steve Withers
      Can I ask what tool you used to calibrate this display for your review?

      I use a Klein K-10 meter, a Sencore MP500 pattern generator and CalMAN5 software.

      @Steve Withers
      I have the 55EA9809 (EU model) and used your settings. What should I say - Picture is awesome (even in the mentioned THX Mode).
      About the Expert Picture Mode (Expert Control):
      You wrote White Balance 10-point. In my Menu there are 20-point (and 2-point). A typo? Or impair it the setting?
      And it would be interesting to know your settings for 3D Mode.

      I have had some issues with my LG OLED 980 and am trying to get someone at LG to advise (who doesn't think it's an LCD/LED). But I though it worth posting on here in case anyone has any insights...

      Basically, we have a “cloudy” effect on the LHS of the screen on dark but not completely black scenes. I contacted LG for advice last week and sent some photos as they requested - see below.
      They finally called me back today but the guy who called seemed to be talking about LCD/LED rather than OLED so has gone off to recheck with his Tech guys.
      I don’t know if any of you have any insight into this issue - I’ve set up the picture on Expert settings as recommended on AV Forums by Steve Withers above - LG EA980 (55EA980W) OLED TV - Reviewer's Recommended Best Settings | AVForums and for the most part the picture is excellent.
      I just want to get this “Clouding” issue sorted out - hopefully it’s not a fault but I can’t figure out why its happening.
      Any help / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

      NB - IMG_1409.JPG IMG_6397.JPG IMG_6398.JPG Pictures show the effect on a grey screen, on Peaky Blinders in HD and on the Input screen (as requested by LG).

      Set the brightness to the original position 50,and this issue will end. Although the lower spectrum of the greyscale will be lost this way(never mind u wont realise it!).The same issue i have with mine,which i dont understand,but i got used to it. An Oled shouldn't produce such an inhomogenity!!That is the only solution for this, to lower the brightness!!I have been waiting for a firm to solve this for months, but...Nothing has happened so far!I wonder if the new 4k series will suffer from the same issue!!

      Yes - you can see it best on the blank screen picture above - LHS, bottom and it spreads towards the middle.

      It's most noticeable from the Sky box - I've tried connecting it through our Onkyo AV receiver and also with a direct HDMI cable.
      Haven't noticed it as much on Netflix through Apple TV - but it does depend on the type of picture - needs to be a kind of murky colour. Vivids are unaffected - or at least, I can't see the clouding on them.

      Don't think so - I followed Steve Withers recommendations above for the picture settings and it's the same on the THX setting as well. With it being a partial screen weirdy i'm thinking it's something more than picture settings.
      And, when it's a solid black screen it's fine - nice deep solid black.

      Real Cinema is for deinterlacing interlaced content but Blu-rays are progressive, which is why it automatically turns off.

      Update:-
      LG and the retailer agreed to replace it with the EA 930 and the problem has gone.
