LG DRT389H - How do I connect to my Virgin V+ Box to transfer recorded programmes?

I have just bought an LG DRT389H VCR Recorder so that I can transfer recorder programmes on my Virgin V+ box to DVD. I have sought advice from various posts on this forum, all indications are that it is recording successfully, but all I get recorded is a fuzzy screen. I have 2 SCART leads connecting the V+ box to the LG box, and connecting the LG box to the TV. When setting up the LG box I am simply not able to configure it to detect the channel on the V+ box. could anyone help..? I am close to giving up and sending the LG box back...

You should be able to connect your recorder by scart to the vcr marked socket on the V+ and then set the recorder to record on AV (audio visual input). That way you should be recording whatever is coming out of the V+ box. You have a digital recorder, not a VCR.

Before 2015 I had a workable Sony DVD Recorder and I was able to copy from my TV/ box recordings. Albeit it was a complicated process entailing 3 hardware products. Then I transfered to Virgin TiVo and the DVD recorder died as well, it seems from your posts that it won't be worth me buying another recorder. Has anything changed. What can I now do to be able to re record my jazz recordings ( they were from radio but now in a dvd format, of course,). I want them for my motor home.
