Had this for a few months but recently it's taken to spitting out DVD-RWs (TDK and Dr disc or whatever) if they've been in the machine when it's powered up or when I put the disc in after power up.

It seems to fail to recognise the disc. However on second attempts it usually works fine.

This is most annoying when using the timer record. I come home to find that the disc has been spat out at power up and nothing has been recorded

Discs are formatted in VR mode.

    Any ideas?

Doesn't anyone own this machine and have any idea why this happens?

I've set it to record Max and Paddy on C4 tonight but I've set the S-VHS as a back up because I'm sure it'll throw a hissy fit and spit the -RW out :suicide:

Its seems the 'LG' word is simular to the bad guy in Harry Potter, just not spoken in these parts, I asked for advice about the LG DR4820 and got no response, maybe its because LG customers don't have many problems and need to seek advice in these type of forums

Sorry i can't help you with your problem, take it back and get replaced?
