LG CX Optical Out to AV Receiver

Hey Everyone,

Hoping you guys can help me out by answering a question. I have picked up an LG CX and my old Arcam AVR400 is obviously not 4k compatible, which is fine, I'll be grabbing a new one down the line. In the meantime, I wondered if it was possible to output the audio from the CX through the AVR400 via optical cable? If I can it would tide me over until I pick up a new receiver.

TIA

Your AVR appears to have HDMI-ARC so that would be the first thing to try and would save an unnecessary optical connection.

Passes DTS and DD from my dvd BD and android boxes fine

If willing to pay the price, the sharc will allow you to use eARC with the Arcam AVR400.

That will get you Dolby 5.1, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and PCM 7.1 via the AVR400, if you have something that can decode DTS as PCM that will cover those formats as LG does not support DTS on X series.

I use the optical out to go straight to a DAC from a Sony KDL-55HX853. No Issues in a 2.0 setup.
