LG CX/ARC Soundbar Issue

I have an LG CX and a fairly old Panasonic Soundbar with ARC.

Sometimes when playing something via HDMI, the sound will work for a short period of time and then it will stop. To get it back I either need to use the TV remote to cycle to internal speaker and then back to ARC or with the sound bar remote switch to another source and then back to TV. The fact both solutions restore sound makes it hard for me to identify the fault.

The soundbar doesn't have much in the way of settings, and all ECO modes are off on the TV.

The problem doesn't happen on Freeview or built in apps, only on HDMI inputs. It was never much of an issue but I've had Sky installed today and would like it to work seamlessly.

The problem also doesn't happen if I only use the internal speaker.

Any help much appreciated!
