So, I have a green light to upgrade the ageing Samsung D7000.

Looks like I will be going OLED and more than likely this years 8-series. Whether that is an E or C model depends on when I go and see them in the shops.

Have a question about the stands though, especially the C8, reviews state that the stand is curved forward to aid the sound projection to the seating area. But, if you wall mount would you not remove this stand ? I guess there is nothing to say you should remove it and it may look OK left in place and mounted on a wall.

Anyone, got a C8 and can comment on it when wall mounted ? I think I am getting a bit hung up on last years reviews about the E7 and the "relatively" good sound from the TV itself. I do have a 5.1 setup anyway, but was interested in the newer sets sounds, I guess it will be much better than the current one I have in anyway.

Now, 55 or 65 inch,,, that is the next choice I need to make :)

Edit: just read the C8 stand is 25cm deep, so obviously not an option to keep it on while wall mounted.

I'd be very interested on the answers for your questions too as I'm pretty much in the same boat.

I've just mounted a C8 I'll post the pic.... I heard that processor wise and panel, the C8 was the same as the E8? I could be wrong.

Sound wise, it's OK but I've got 5.1 so switched it

FWIW I’ve just wall mounted my C8 using the OTW420. Quite a good mount which allows for movement if you wish to pull it out for whatever reason. It’s jot quite as slim to wall as I’d hope but I suppose that’s more to do with the speaker / bulky bit on the back of the C8. It’s quite expensive as well

I think you can go AV4home and get one around the £200 mark, I had a specific need to extend out to 700mm to clear the chimney and angle as I wished. SWMBO was well chuffed with the results. :D

    Hi Fergal82,

Where were you able to get the OTW420? I've looked everywhere and the only one I can find is in RS and has half the parts missing.

    Thanks

I got mine back end of May from Amazon, sold by amazon which was quite fortunate as it seems they’re as rare as unicorn poop now.

They occasionally turn up on eBay and they are available to order on the Italian amazon site but they’re not in stock.

I just recently purchased a 65" E6. My initial thought was to wall mount it, but once I had in down on the stand and took in that sexy design, it occurred to be that it would be wasted on the wall.

So I will leave it on the stand for folks to walk in and droll :p

Cheers for this. I've managed to order one from the states. Hopefully it's all there! Are you able to post some more photos of the stand please?
