Wow! we are on our 1st anniversary of one month with our 65" C7P aprox. 210 hrs. usage.
Finally solved a problem working on a week and a half. Make a long story short, was a bad HDMI cable 25' 10 years or older 1.1 thought was no problem using are older cables, wrong. Had loosing connection, screen flickering, black screen, and screen would flicker like a strobe light., Video Only manager said when either problem comes hit the HOME page button on our LG controller, if it looks normal on screen, then it's not the TV, it's either COMCAST or cable, had my X1 DVR changed, was no the the problem, then VO said swap cables, did that, was better.
I called my tech that installed our Bose 535 about a year ago, he said change my 1.1 HDMI # 1 cable for a high end 4K cable, bought AR brand Ultimate platinum series, plus one for the X1 to the Bose, WOW! what a difference! Problem solved. Old cable using 1.1 may have been the problem, tech said best to use 4K cable. New cable 2160p 4k, up to 600Hz, 48 Bit 15.o Gbps, so much for a short story. Love this TV, hope it last, coming from a 50" plasma Panasonic, except it was 690 watts to run it, screen would get 118 degrees, LG 90's low power, which some of you may know that. Stay Safe everyone!

I'll have to take your word on that as I won't be upgrading my e6 this year, which is the first time in 3 generations of oleds I've owned, I never watch my e6 and sit there thinking I wish that image was better, I upgraded my 930 as I wanted 4k, I upgraded my 950 as I wanted better uniformity and dolby vision, there's nothing to tempt me to the 2017 oleds, I'll see what 2018 brings
It's only when you have them side by side like I have the C7 and E6 that you can appreciate the improvements this year's models have over last years. They're fairly subtle differences but welcome nonetheless. The E6 is still a fantastic TV that's for sure :)

Yes it's there. Immediately after the opening credits, blinking away like Morse code.
So I wonder is this an issue with the content or the tv?

One thing I'm noticing, I'm currently using wifi, Netflix seems to be streaming at a low bitrate a lot and when I do a network connection speed check in netflix it says 51Mbps so it should be fine. Just got Jessica Jones on and it looks like SD at times. Anyone else using wifi and seeing anything similar?
Stick LG TV Plus Remote App - TV | LG U.S.A on your phone.
Not the best app in the world, but the info button gives you the current streaming rate for Netflix.
15.26mbps seems to be the highest for 4k.

As it's there on more than one device, on one piece of content is imagine there's a problem with the encode. I watched all of The Defenders on the C7 and have seen plenty of Dolby Vision content on the E6 and have never seen the flashing pixel before.

Uniformity wise yes ,picture wise no, but lets not forget theres more to a set than a 5% slide
Mate I would not be standing for this bashing from an E6 owner on the C7 thread lol
What a cheek
You would not catch us going on the e6 thread pulling the E6 apart on how bad its near black perfects is [emoji12]

Joking aside the E6 dithering, noise and fizzing is much more of a distracting and visible on a lot more content then any banding on a 2017 sets .
For me the lesser evil is the banding any day of the week .

And in all honesty only people that own both e6 and c7 are qualified to judge this .

And stranger to is what are these e6 owners who are so so happy with there e6s even looking at 2017 threads for ?

I didn't realise the LGS have built in slides, I've been using a disc :)
Assuming it's in the advanced options - haven't looked at greyscale yet until I find my keeper?

Can't make out any details in the 5ire, but the 10ire looks amazing. [emoji106]
Yeah it's not the best pic I admit, I'll try and get a better one later

Well done LG, great to have this built in.
To be fair it's not ideal cos you can't get rid of the menu overlay, not that I know of anyway

Not a bad way of looking at it I suppose, banding is only going to crop up very rarely whereas the image improvements are there constantly. I could definitely see that Jessica Jones on netflix was a lot cleaner on the C7 for example

owned current screen a week now , bands have moved a little but tbh most my viewing has been enjoyable except ghost in the shell UHD last night that movie really exposes the c7s weakness.

Mad to think my 9 year old kuro would beat this set at 5% grey / detail. That being said ive accepted that this isent the sets strong point. I just find it crazy how the screen can go so black but near black / grey and these oleds start to fall apart with bands and noise.

The texture orange peel effect needs work for of angle viewing and the ding effect you see in reflections remind me of a car when its been dinged but I understand this is due to the coating. If they could get on top of this they really would have a set worthy of being sold as a premium product.

That being said I don't think I will return another (touch wood) out of the 7 returned they all had bands , my current isent the best ive seen but works well to the point I hardly notice there present. My whites are great slight blue push maybe but beats the yellow any day.

Mostly happy c7 owner

That's how it looked to me when I was an e6 owner reading about 2017 sets .
So I decided to take a chance on one knowing full well the that that a band free one was lotto odds as I had had 7 e6s with banding .
The gamble paid off in the end and I would do it again tomorrow at the risk of getting one with some level of banding as the benefits near black far out way some level of banding .
There is so much more going on from 5ire to 0 then banding .
I have spent hours and hours trying to calibrate the best near black detail on 2015 and 2016 sets but it's always at the cost of something els .
2016 needs a low gamma 2.2 at 5ire to keep any detail and not crush blacks , but still 17 is lost and that comes at the cost of contrast in the dark scenes and more visible dithering, jumping, popping and fizzing in content of a lesser quality then reference levels .
2017 sets you just set brightness to 51 and that's it , perfect blacks with 17 showing and with a gamma of 2.4 if you wish without losing 17 or detail in blacks .
No fizzing or other distracting artefacts .

C7 is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing LG oled this year!

Is this a locked thread for special people with 2017 oleds or an open forum for people to comment? I read and comment as I have a vented interest in oled tv's, if he doesn't want comments he shouldn't put slide pics up, all I did was say I wouldn't be happy with it, which I wouldnt be if it was mine, but if he is happy that's all that matters, he's the one living with it not me, my e6 is flawless in 99 percent of content, I hardly ever see dithering or noise in the image like you describe, maybe your e6's were like wezzy e7's? each tv is completely different, you should know this by the sheer number that you've owned lol
