Hello
First time poster. My TV in the kitchen has finally given up so looking to replace with a new 55”. The tv will be on the wall and connected to Sky Q but no soundbar

Having read reviews I narrowed it down to LG C1 but also the Philips 806 has come in with rave reviews albeit seem some major bugs. Anybody have an opinion on which is the better tv in a large kitchen where light may hit the screen and needs to have decent sound?

Presuming both would be better than replacing with a Sky Glass set?

summarized:

LG C1
Pro: more or less best price quality atm, few issues + 4 hdmi 2.1 ports
Con: no ambilight

Philips 806
Pro ambilight
Con: as you say a lot of bugs, most annoyingly the dolby vision one and the earc issues with sound cutting out. No guarantee that firmwire updates will resolve those. Also just 1 hdmi 2.1 port

Imo the only possible reason to buy the philips is the ambilight so you have to decide for yourself how important it is for you. In the reviews section you can find a review about both type of tvs. Only keep in mind that the abovementioned bugs are NOT mentioned in the 806 review.

Also for some reason in the UK and Europe reviews for Philips Tvs also seem to get a point just for being 'Philips'. imo.
