LG BD370 AVCHD playback via USB?

As the title says
Should my LG BD370 plackback movies taken with my Lumix TZ7 (.MTS) from the USB input?
I tried it an I couldn't seem to see the file on the USB stick, yet if I convert it to MKV on the PC that plays OK.

If the BD370 doesn't support it fair enougth just wanted to know "should it" ?

Hmmm, you should be able to just rename it to .M2TS and it should play.

I did read that somewhere but it doesn't seem to work
