LG B7 - Any idea what this screen anomaly is....don't think it's burn!

    Hiya

I have noticed recently what I thought was a large vertical band/line about 1/3 the way in from the left off the screen on my 55 LG B7

On further investigation it is actually a box in the middle of the screen that is slightly lighter than the rest of the screen (see pics)....it's only really visible on solid colour (football pitches etc)

Any idea what may have caused it and is it the type of thing considered "normal"?

Only had the TV around a year and it was a replacement for my Samsung JS8500 that needed a new panel

    Cheers

    Nick

I have it too and it is indeed the problem Rtings addressed in the video above. It will occur after you have ran pixel refresh.

I contacted LG Support about this issue and as i suspected, they think it's burn-in and will fix it under warranty. So they will likely replace the whole panel. But it isn't burn in, it has to do with values in the lookup table that needs to be reset. But like Rtings described, this is not a known issue. I live in the Netherlands and they nothing about this.

So I’ve been in contact with LG and although it seems like it should be fixable with an update, they have said today they will replace the panel!

The job sheet I’ve been sent also says it’s a “known issue”....great to be getting a fix so easy though!!

I may need to log the repair with a John Lewis though as I technically have a 5 year warranty with them!

I have a Panasonic EZ952 and this exact issue has appeared after the long compensation cycle. Sorry for hijacking the LG thread but thought I would let you know this is a potential problem to all OLED panels as they are made by LG.

I'm going to contact John Lewis today

Did you contact LG directly? I'm wondering whether I should contact Panasonic in the first instance rather than John Lewis.

I went direct to LG as I assumed it would be a service port update but seems to be more than just that!
