    Hi there,

I have, for a few months now been reading on here for a new television. From what I have gathered, at the moment it isnt a great time to buy with the stock levels of 2017 models low and 2018 model prices high.

My viewing distance from couch to TV unit is 2.5m would I be right in saying a 65 inch would be perfect ?

I have been looking at 65 inch, I watch most of my TV content in HD, sports, movies etc. Netflix is HD and also Xbox one gaming now and again.

I like the look of the LG B7 but I'm not too keen on the price. Is this likely to come down at all ?

    Thanks

It depends what price segment regarding the timing. If you are looking at OLEDs now is a good time to buy with the B7 being picked up at around £2200+-. To put it into perspective it was £3400 when released.

    OLED Price Changes

The B7 is a 2017 model so it will be at its cheapest as it sells out.
The new models will be a lot more expensive but with little gain.

In the case of the B7, now is a good time to buy :)

B7 now or wait a year or so to see what size OLEDs are released by Hisense and Toshiba, and their prices, to see if that drives prices down

Thanks for the info. It is on AO at the moment for £2300 with a code on their site flash300 it's coming in at £2000, after speaking with you guys it seems a good deal.

Is there any other 65 inch models you guys would recommend ? I had a look on the best buys of 2017 thread and most are out of stock in the high end range. Is there a huge difference between high and mid range as I'm sure I seen stock in some places, was a few weeks ago now granted.

I seen a few people mention the Sony XF9005 model I think it was. Again though stock at the moment isn't great.

    Thanks

B7 is best bang for buck at the moment. Richer Sounds have same offer, and six year guarantee.

The XF9005 is a 2018 model comparable to last years XE9005 that was selling for £999 not so long ago.

Just ignore 2018 models if you want a good deal, they are overpriced right now.

I'm surprised the LG OLEDs haven't sold out, the high-ish end LCDs sold out some time ago now. But even so they weren't good overall packages compared to the OLEDs. 2017 was a poor year really for high end LCDs. It looks it will be a bit better this year with Samsung also having some high end models and more oled's entering the market.

65” XE9005 was £1500, but even at that price the B7 is worth the premium.
