Successor of the 55EC930 or simply a store exclusive model?
Just showed up in Germany, see kaufDA - Technik im Doppelpack
Has a different stand than the EC930 and is possibly the EU version of the korean 55EC9310, see LG전자 : 55EC9310 | OLED TV | TV | TV/AV
Though the leaflet only lists 3 HDMI ports while the 55EC9310 and our 55EC930 both have 4.

Wonder if this one still has the tint problem.

I've read the specs myself and I find it really curious that it has Web os 1.0, being a newer model, when they said they will update 930v to Web os 2.0..

First page says 3 HDMI ports, while it says 4 on the 3rd page.
My guess is that 4 is correct, since this is basically the same TV as the EC930 only with a different stand. Unless the tint is gone, of course.

I don't know about this model but it's the letters that indicate generation, not the numbers.

It's an EC so it's likely to be some sort of end of line territory special. The EG920 is the replacement for the EC930

This years sets are EG and EF.

Or it could be the eg9100/910v

Saw a picture of it here
    http://www.lgbildebank.com/preview.php?id=12312

And there is a reference to it on the wall mount literature

    http://www.lg.com/us/support/products/documents/OTW150 Spec Sheet.pdf

I believe I read somewhere that the 55eg920 is a value 4k set

Went to check the 55EC940 yesterday. Took a look at some test slides and saw the same tints as known from the 55EC930. Greenish/bluish center and magenta edges.

Would you say it is essentially a EC930? Were you able to discover what differences there were to warrant a different number?

Apart from the stand, I didn't notice any difference. Same slow webOS 1.0.

I don't find the webOS 1.0 particularly slow on the EC970?

Haven't yet played around with the 65EC970, but thought that it was also pretty slow on the 77EC980 store model in my local big Saturn store. I think there's a noticeable difference to the webOS 2.0 models with Quadcore when browsing through USB content.

That's odd. What's the point of the EC940v when its using the exact same panel as the EC930v, including the defects, with no other upgrades other than a different stand.
