I have just bought this model too. What was it that edged it for you over the Panny out of interest?

    cheers

All the issues people are having with the Panny really there was just to many to write it off as a bit of bad luck and I cant be doing with the hassle of arguing the toss with the retailer also at £999 plus 5 year warranty the LG was £200-300 cheaper and it was 3D which wasn't really a consideration but its a bit of fun .
I cant wait now its booked in for tomorrow :arty:

Well it came today and ive just put it all together and plugged it in (just power and sky) and first inpressions are brilliant picture for such a big screen is fantastic sports is a bit grainy but im not a sporty person so I dont care.

Il be setting it up properly at the weekend and hopefully it will have settled in and I can give it a blast of Bluray.

Yeah did think id try that but I just cant be bothered and even without the 5years its still the best price around I may pay for an LG warranty its not that much TBH.
On a lighter note ive fully set it up now plumbed my bluray in which looks amazing set the internet up even had a couple round on my Wii all thats left now is to run a CAT5 to it for hard wire connection mount it on the wall oh and give it a real test run on COD Black ops on my Xbox :-]

    Hi mate,

I'm in the market for the LG but having read the review on here, it says about lag time when playing games- I see you have an xbox 360- whats it like when playing games- is there any lag time between your input on from the game pad and the screen reacting? I ask as I'll spend a lot of time on my xbox 360 with a new 50" tv!! :)

Greggus Maximus ... are we related?! :p

I'm getting the same telly I've decided. Likewise can't be arrsed with the 3D (what use is a single pair of specs unless you've got no mates?).

I was going to purchase at Electrocentre as the warranty looked good value at £935 delivered (LG 50PX990 50'' 3D Ready Plasma TV Built-In Freeview HD) but cheap electricals (LG 50PX990 50 inch 3D Plasma TV 1080p Infinia FreeviewHD Wifi TV) looks good value too at £999.99 but the warranty isn't as good value ... but maybe more comprehensive?!?!

Bugger they drop the price by nearly £70 since I bought mine oh well as for warenty after getting mine I wouldnt bother unless its either LG or a comprehensive as with the cheapo ones you will have to take it to a repair centre or the shop you bought it from like I will have to so just go for the cheapest you can find.
