Question LG 49SK8100PLA stutters playing MKV files

Hi Guys,

My new LG 49SK8100PLA stutters on motion when playing MKV files.

I have been advised that it is probably due to miss matched frame rates.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a "fix"?

Regards,

Paul

Hi again,

I just read in another thread that there is a "PC Mode" on some LG TVs, does anyone know if it is available on the 49SK8100PLA.

Regards,

Paul

Could it be that they’re H265 encoded and not supported so the LG struggles to play with its hardware

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried both H264 and H265 and it's the same on both file types.
It's really bad on some files but not as obvious on others, I can't figure out what the differences are.

Paul

Hi Paul,

If you are able... Can you run one (or more) of your problem file(s) through an application called MediaInfo set to 'text' mode and post what it reports in full?

What delivery method are you using to access your .mkv files?

EDIT: All LG 4K UHD smart TV's from 2016 on-wards can play HEVC (h.265) content without any issues...

Cheers

Hi there,

I've tried everything I can think of to play these files.

Streamed from my NAS direct to the LG.
Copied to a USB stick and plugged directly into the LG
Copied to the Hard Drive of our Humax Freesat Set top Box and played through that.

Here's what media info says
