LG 47LE8900 Freeview HD

Hi all,

I recently bought this LG 47LE8900 and was hoping to watch freeview HD (BBC ONE HD, ITV HD etc). However, after first auto tuning, I couldn't find any of those channels (channel 0, channel 50). I'm currently using the signal from a shared roof-top aerial antenna of the building. I also checked freeview website and my home address should be within the coverage area. Do you have any ideas why this is happening?

Another question, it doesn't appear that this model has a hard switch on/off button. It can only be switched on or on standby model, unless the power cord is unplugged. Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance.

It could be a few things, does anyone else who shares the ariel receive freeview HD? on the setup menu scroll down, there is a booster feature, turn it ON and do a scan, freeview HD channels usually start at 50 (BBC1HD) onwards I don't really understand your second question, BTW there is an owners thread here http://www.avforums.com/forums/lg-forum/1208646-official-lg-le8900-lcd-thread.html you'll get more help in this thread with your problems.

Thanks Bill e, the internal booster is by default on and most of my neighbours have sky and not sure about freeview HD channels.

My second question was regarding whether LE8900 could be turned OFF rather than switched to standby mode. I didn't find such button on it.

Well MY first thought is the rooftop ariel! I'd make some more enquiries as to whether anyone sharing the ariel receives the terrestrial HD, is the ariel an old type?? or a new digital type so to speak, how strong is your signal? afaik there is no on/off switch on the tv, first make certain your area receives freeview HD.
