    LG 42PG3000 - 449.99 at Cdiscount UK They also have a 37 1080p polaroid for 400

720p which is ideal for freeview and as its a plasma may well be better than a 1080lcd, also 100hz and it should handle 24p.

Tempted by this for the bedroom, does anyone know if its as good as the PG6000 as it looks it from the spec sheet. Whats the IR like on these if just blu ray is used?

Price went up £20 now mate

As for your Q, it depends on the model and this 1 will probably suffer from more image rentention with gaming. Panasonic plasmas probably are ok for gaming though.

Try this link for amazing value sets, scroll right to the bottom to the clearance models, if your lucky enough to be near 1 of the stores that has it (calling to check/reserve stock first):

That is one of the finest plasma displays ever made. They were released in around 2005 (I still have mine) and are one of the best SD screens available but it's not a telly.

It's more akin to a pc monitor and has no speakers or tv tuner and you have to add input boards for stuff like HDMI.

If all you're watching is SD then you'll struggle to find a better screen but it's not HD so if that's on the cards look elsewhere.
