LG 42PC1D vs Panasonic 42tx70 or keep PX60

I have an engineer coming round to look at PX60 which has purple snakes.

My options will be either the upgraded board which might fix the problem.
(whats the wait time on these??)

Or a refund as im within the 28 days period. How does the LG compare on standard def Sky & Dvd to the Panasonic.

I wouldn't bother with the LG, get a PX70.
