I've decided to go for a 42" LG but what's the difference between the 650 and the 550?

I see the contrast ratio and the motion clarity index is better on the 650 but all the other differences seem superficial.

Are the differences worth bothering about?

As you can sometimes get the 650 cheaper anyway, I would go for that if you can. 200hz, instead of 100hz, and I think the built in spealers are also slightly better. I have the 650 and have been happy with it since April.

Yeah, that's odd about the pricing. The 550 is more expensive than the 650 in the likes of Comet, Currys, Dixons, etc. Not sure why that is.

Got the 550 on Amazon last week...took 4 days to leave the depot, then another 3 to arrive. Was NOT happy. I'm a prime customer too!

Good win on the football over Christmas, along with the fact I got vat off on amazon making the 550 £665. Was originally just getting a 450.

I believe the 650 sets are exclusive to Currys/Dixons, they are basically slightly souped up 550 models. Probably why they're cheaper as well, not many seem to like Currys customer service so perhaps the lower prices are to entice you in?

    You're Right!
When Sky were doing the rebate there was mention that certain sets were only available in DSG and one particular set was only available in Richer Sounds.
