LG 42"LCDTV 42LD Screen Issues

I have had a LG 42" LCD tv for yearly a year now and I have noticed recently a dark horizontal band that travels vertically across the screen. It has appeared suddenly, has anyone experienced anything similar? or what is the cause of this?
