Hi all, I've had my new TV and DVD player for about 3 weeks now and am so dissappointed with the quality. The picture through Sky is only average and when watching football seems to go really blocky. The upscaling DVD player that I bought with it, along with a £35 HDMI cable is poor too. I have a cheap £25 player connected through Scart that gives a better picture. Is there anything I can do or is this it? Thanks:thumbsdow

Hi there.

I bought the same TV and DVD player last week! I was appalled by the quality of the DVX9900H player. My old DVD player via SCART blew it out the water.

I highly recommend spending that little extra and getting a proper player. I bought the Denon 1920 yesterday and the quality is massively better over HDMI. Only downside is that I have to run it through the DVI socket rather than the HDMI due to the Denon-LG HDMI/HDCP issue.

In terms of Sky.. I can't really comment. I've tried our Freeview box and the image is pretty blocky. But that's mainly because a CRT tends to disguise low quality sources. If you fiddle with settings you might have some luck, but it won't be perfect!

jsgreen89 - do you know what your firmware version is? Mine is 3.31/3.60 so wondered if I will have the same issue (Thinking of buying that very DVD player as well)

Thanks

Mine is 3.70/3.60

But you should be able to use it fine via the DVI socket like I am.
