    Hi,

Has anyone tested this tv (LG 32LP1R) or even owns one?
LG is one of the big players in LCD-screens and this tv got a very good rating in a german hi-fi magazine, but i'd prefer some additional opinions before buying.
It's said to have great picture quality (excellent black, fast reaction times, very good colours), impressing sound and about any connection possibility you could wish (except VGA, but you can handle this with an adapter on the DVI). Can anyone confirm or deny this?

    thanks

I have the 32LX2R, its smaller brother.

About the VGA, a DVI to VGA cable is supplied together with a DVI-DVI cable. I also had a PC sound cable in my package. (so no AV cables)

I havent tested the screen with my PC though, but connecting to VGA Dsub is possible and the cable is included.

The one big drawback that I found about the LG models I've considered is that they don't have even one RGB Scart input, which I find to be quite unbelievable.

Hopefully somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I've emailed LG support and got no reply yet.

There seems to be some major confusion about this one.
The 26LX2R is RGB, that much is certain (have one myself)... but with the 32LX2R, it seems to depend who you ask.

I've downloaded the 32LP1R manual, and it says that AV1 is RGB, like the LX2R family.

amorenod - or anyone who knows - can you tell me where you found that particular manual please? I've so far only found the 32LP1D on http://www.lge.com and of course the 32LX2R.

Oh yes and I did find in the 'small print' of those manuals I did get that the Scart AV1 of the 32LX2R and the 32LP1 family supports RGB (phew!). Sorry to cause a panic but I've just looked back and confirmed that it was at Comet (spit!) that I first saw the mis-information where it incorrectly says 'No' to the question of RGB sockets for the 32LX2R.

The only problem I have now is to decide between the relatively cheap 32LX2R or go for the 32LP1D with integrated digital. The latter is tempting because (a) don't then need an extra box and remote to worry about and (b) PIP would be more impressive being able to do the 'POP Programme Scan' on the freeview channels which wouldn't be possible with an external AV freeview input.

    Oh, decisions decisions . . . .

In the German hifi forums two users commented that a powercut causes the 32lp1r to return all its settings to the factory defaults. That would annoy me a lot since I always cut off all power to my AV stuff during the night. Can anyone give this a try and confirm or let us know this has been fixed in the latest firmware?

It happens to my 32lx2r if there's a powercut with the tv ON. I did a test, powercut with TV off for 8 hours and all was ok
