    Hi,

Right, this is probably going to be a very tough question, regarding a Season 4 episode of "Lexx", which aired a week or two ago on Channel Five (in the UK), and last night on the UK Sci-Fi Channel. :)

Basically, in Season 4, Episode 18 "The Game", the characters of Kai and the Prince play a rather cool game of chess, which lasts througout the entire show. Now, I'm a new fan to the game of chess, and this episode was a stunner, including some spectacular dark and sick effects, when the pieces get taken or removed from the board. :smashin:

However, my question is this: does anyone know where I can get a list of all the moves played in the game, shown in this cool episode of "Lexx"? I want to play the game for myself on a chess board, and see whether the game shown in the episode is based on any real-life chess game played by a chess master (e.g. Nimzovitsh, Capablanca, et al); whether the game was played correctly according to the rules of chess, and also, whether the game shown could have had a different outcome. (In the episode, White lost, by having his king stuck in a corner of the board, and was checked by black's knight.)

So, can anyone help me out, please?! Any and all help, would be very much appreciated. :) Thanks in advance,

    HI,

 I've just found the answer to my own question...

The game is a recreation of a match between L De La Bourdonnais (Black) and A McDonnell (White), from London, in 1834. The moves, for chess fans, are as follows, with White moving first - obviously! ;) :

    1. e4 e5
    2. Bc4 Bc5
    3. Qe2 Nf6
    4. d3 Nc6
    5. c3 Ne7
    6. f4 exf4
    7. d4 Bb6
    8. Bxf4 d6
    9. Bd3 Ng6
    10. Be3 O-O
    11. h3 Re8
    12. Nd2 Qe7
    13. O-O-O c5
    14. Kb1 cxd4
    15. cxd4 a5
    16. Ngf3 Bd7
    17. g4 h6
    18. Rdg1 a4
    19. g5 hxg5
    20. Bxg5 a3
    21. b3 Bc6
    22. Rg4 Ba5
    23. h4 Bxd2
    24. Nxd2 Ra5
    25. h5 Rxg5
    26. Rxg5 Nf4
    27. Qf3 Nxd3
    28. d5 Nxd5
    29. Rhg1 Nc3+
    30. Ka1 Bxe4
    31. Rxg7+ Kh8
    32. Qg3 Bg6
    33. hxg6 Qe1+
    34. Rxe1 Rxe1+
    35. Qxe1 Nxe1
    36. Rh7+ Kg8
    37. gxf7+ Kxh7
    38. f8=N+ Kh6
    39. Nb1 Nc2# 0-1

Sorry for asking a question, before looking on the Net for the answer! I feel a right muppet now, for answerig my own question. :suicide:

Saw this episode and loved it but I think you might have a bit too much time on your hands to ask questions like that mate. :)

    Hey Gordon,

Hate to burst your bubble, mate, but Xev isn't as nice as Zev (from the four Season 1 films, and the first 2/3 episodes of Season 2!)

And yes, "Lexx" is a nutty show. I just wish someone would do a proper, decent quality DVD release. The UK Region 2 releases, are a mess!

I meant to post similar the other day but did not get round to it. I too though Zev was gorgeous but never fancied Xev that much.

I also did not care for the last series that much, the others were quirky but this series was just plain stupid.

I'm with Gordon on this one, Xenia Seeberg as Xev looked so much better with water cascading down/around her firm yet supple body than Zev ever did and I am sure Stan fancied her more as well, even Leslie Ash couldn't compete with Xenias lips :)
Lets not forget the Bunny scene either!

What a weird and wonderful show LEXX was though, nothing comes close to it's wild/wacky and yes perverted nature:)

And the worrying thing is that when the rest of us say that we mean the wallpaper on our PCs, not out bedrooms...

    Cheers,
