I have a Lexmark Z51 that has an undefined error code of five power light flashes. It also sparks when you remove/insert the power cable - I am assuming this printer is unservicable and have bought a replacement Z54 which uses the same cartidges (of which I have several pre-purchased).

I am now just about to bin the Z51 but at it's time (3 years ago) it was a £180 1200x1200dpi state-of-the-art printer - seems a shame to bin it when someone who likes to tinker could maybe get it going again.

Anyone interested let me know - have original box and documentatio/cds so if you want to pay postage it's yours....

    Hi chaps

    Thread hijack warning

I am having problems with a rogue Lexmark 7000 Jetprinter. I swapped the cartridges over recently and the thing started printing test output - after the 5th page I turned the printer off, however whenever I start the printer now it refuses to load paper.

Again, when purchased 3 years ago this was a decent printer and I have not had enough use out of it to warrent ditching it for a new one.

    Any ideas ?

As there have been no takers after 7 days on the forum I have decided to send it to the big computer graveyard via the dustbin!

MODs - thread can now be deleted!
    Cheers
