    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the Lexicon MC12B and LX7 have switchable power supplies to easily change from US to UK voltage?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve

I picked up their catalogue at the Bristol show - it states 120-230v, 50-60hz for the power supply so it should be OK.

    Cheers
    Rob

Thanks Rob. Is that the same for both the processor and the amp?

Steve, the MC12B works with UK or US mains, straight out of the box. Unfortunately, the amp does not. If your heart is set on an LX7, then I suggest you pick up a UK model, but to be honest, there are far better amps to partner with the Lex.

    Regards

    Yas

Thanks for the info Yas, I haven't decided on the amp yet, but had heard some good things about the LX7.

It also depends on which speakers you are running. The LX7 (made by Crown amplifiers) is rated at about 200 wpc @ 8 Ohms, but because it is a smallish unit (to match the processor) it has a fan cooling system and generally can't be pushed very hard and has difficulty with 4 Ohm speakers. If you want to have a demo, you are welcome to pop by sometime, just PM me!

    Regards

    Yas

Many thanks for the offer Yas, I'll bear it in mind. It will be a couple of months before I'm ready to purchase so I'll start looking at demoing some kit then. At the moment I'm just trying to put together a short list :) .

    Regards,

    Steve

Steve, I'm confused. You are selling the Bryston, and were selling the EAD power amp, both of which are better than the LX7, no? What are you up to!?

Daneel - you make it sound as though I have some sort of sinister motive! To put it simply, I am moving house in the next few weeks (fingers crossed that it all goes through okay  ) to a big loft apartment in London. To help finance the move (and buying stuff like a fridge etc ) I am having to free up some cash. I will be getting my yearly bonus in April/May so I'll be buying some AV kit then and 7.1 will probably be the way I'll go due to the space available. I had read some good things about the Lex - and as I'm thinking of getting an MC12B thought it may work well together!

    Simple really  :D

Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound sinister, I was just confused. Don't mind me, it happens a lot :)
