Okay peeps. What's your fav music CD of the moment?

I've got to say it's Grace by Jeff Buckley.
Can't get the CD out of my player :)

After that it'd have to be The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails.

Come With Us : Chemical Brothers
    Geogaddi: Boards of Canada
13 Tales from Urban Bohemia: The Dandy Warhols
    Simple Things: Zero 7
    Tourist: St Germaine
    BRMC:Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
    LOTR soundtrack: Howard Shore

Are all the ones that I mainly listen to at the moment. I can be a bit eclectic. I often listen to albums I don't really rate all that much just to see what they are about ( BRMC a case in point)
But I quite like most of the others.

I normally have Mantovani playing on my gramophone but Mrs Teapot prefers something a little more modern and is fond of Jim Reeves

My favourite music CD of the moment would have to be Nickelback:Silver Side Up.Got their previous album as well-The State. It's good too but not so instantly catchy.

'The State' is a much superior album to 'Silver Side Up' if you ask me...

Not to say 'Silver Side Up' is bad, cos it ain't.

I wont disagree with that pointon. I have only listened to The State twice so far and it is growing on me.I will have to listen to it a few more times before i make up my mind which one i like the best.

Night Ranger, Ratt, Dokken, Harem Scarem, House of Lords, Winger, Extreme, Queensryche, Streets, TNT, Tobruk, Tyketto, Vaughn, Y&T, White Sister, Warrior, Persian Risk, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard type stuff.
Not liked hardly any music made since about 1995 with the exception of a few movie soundtracks.
And regge, country & western, chart music, house, garage, outside toilet and all that **** is just ****.

I have to agree with you on that last part, Spectre. I just hope you aren't including the genuine heavy metal and hardcore (punk, not dance crap) genres in that.

Many people only hear the mainstream pants metal kids send into the charts with their pocket money, and it becomes embarrasing to say you like Heavy Metal...

I feel quite out of this one as I have never heard of most of the artists mentioned. Musically I stopped in the seventies and still play Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers and other West Coast bands of that era on the rare occasions that I bother.

West coast music - Do you have any of The Ventures?
This was my Dad's fav band. Got hundreds of their CD's/LP's and laserdiscs kicking around.

I still love listening to Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers (Michael McDonald has a fantastic voice :) ).
Get out there m8 and give anything a listen. I've just come across Macy Gray's new CD (The ID) and it's amazing.

Hey Spectre,i didnt realise that you had such an appreciation for good music. All of the above are personal favourites of mine.I would definitely agree that there has been a lack of good heavy rock music since the mid 90's,but i must say that it was refreshing to hear Nickelback. Now allow me to add a few more from my collection to the above list - Firehouse,Aerosmith,Poison,Motley Crue,Whitesnake,Bonfire,Faster Pussycat,Kiss,Giuffria,Mr.Big,Joe Lynn Turner,Van Halen,David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper,L.A.Guns, Damn Yankees,Mamas Boys,Ozzy Osbourne,Warrant,Danger Danger,Thunder,Rush,Michael Monroe,Honeymoon Suite,Loverboy.

My musical tastes are pretty widespread. I like what I like and would'nt say I was in to a particular genre as such. But was a bit of a metal head when I was a teenager. In those days I hated dance/rave/acid house music but now I've come around full circle and I genuinely do like a lot of dance/trance etc...... music these days (but not garage I have to say!), and it features quite a lot in my rather varied music collection. I'm still partial to a bit of old school heavy metal now and agian. I still spin my old albums from time to time.

I have been playing guitar since my metal years, on and off for about 12 years and these are my influences:

Randy Rhoads - Ozzy Osborne, Quiet Riot
    Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin
    Dave Gilmore - Pink Floyd
    Tony Iommi - Black Sabbath
Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen

Ron240 - nice one. Yeah all those you mentioned are hovering just below my favourites.
Just before Napster wound up it was possible to get some rare and deleted rock like the never released Heavy Pettin album.
Despite being quite good, Morpheus doesn't quite have the real rarities Napster did.
Nobody out there - even the rock fans - will remember our band - Big Chill.

    Darth,

As a teenager (probably years before you were born) I used to go to Eel Pie Island in Twickenham every Sunday night. The resident band was The Yardbirds featuring a very young Eric Clapton and later Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.

When the singer left they changed their name to Led Zep and the rest - as they say - is rock history.

Sometimes for a change we used to go to Kingston and watch Graham Bond with Ginger Baker on drums.

People pay a small fortune nowadays to watch Eric Clapton yet I saw him every week for 10/- (fifty pence to you)

Spectre, check out Dokken playing at JB's Dudley, 18/05/02, and if you are into seriously good music then why not pay a visit to Z Rock 2002 at Maximes in Wigan - 5/05/02, £25 for 8 top class bands! Ex TNT singer Tony Harnell is headlining. You will be sorry if you miss it!!!

Listening to at the moment Humanimal, early Judas Priest, The Snakes, Friction, Von Groove. 'Ryche (Best band to ever exist),
Brad Gillis, Van Halen. early Anthrax (When they were good), Metallica.
