After spending the last 7 months redesigning the ground floor of our house, I've fitted a new kitchen, moved the downstairs toilet, increased the size of the utility and built the Mrs a new lounge,

    Now it's my turn :D

My room is 3.3m x 5.5m and I'm thinking of a Pelt"purple" wall colour with charcoal carpet and ceiling and I'll make my own acoustic panels which will be covered in black material and if anyone can link me to a place where i can buy some cloth at a reasonable price I'd appreciate it.
Will be a 7.1.4 set up with equipment as Sig for now.
So it's pretty much day 1, so here's some pics of the room stripped back, looking to get cables in today and finish stud walls and get them plasterboarded ready for skimming tomorrow.

Thanks for the link, have you used the fabric yourself? I do have a plan yes but not on paper, it's all stored away in the grey vault!

Yesterday I put the stud wall in below the front window and plasterboarded etc, all 8 rear speaker cables installed, Ethernet, fibre hdmi and power for the projector, all insulated and doubled up on Plaster board. Ready for skimming now, bit slow starting today though as we had friends for drinks last night, think I'll watch the F1 quali before I'd do anything!

I haven't used it myself yet, but I did get a sample and compared it to the Devore that I used last time and definitely prefer the MVEL22.

Have sent for a sample, it does look and sound promising. Thanks again.

With me not removing my chimney breast should I fill in the corners? Will there be an impact on sound?

Filling in the corners should help with room modes (you have two sets of room modes due to the two differing widths of the room), but i'm not sure how much of a real world difference it would make.

Have a read through this thread if your interested in room acoustics.
Before you buy your next "upgrade"...

    What a douche I am! :(
As I wanted to improve signal between projector(9300w) and receiver I decided to get a fibre hdmi, was getting a bit fed up with the blank screens whilst it synced. Still a lot to do in my room but wanted to do a system test yesterday as i'm about 90% there now and guess what, no image! NOOOOOOO! I'd only gone and put the hdmi the wrong way round, and no its not in ducting and not even sure if i cut the plug off that it would pull, if I did get it out is it possible to get the plug back on??

Not really no, cable goes from floor up and across studwork and then into ceiling, so not much hope even with the plug removed.

    Ouch, I feel your pain.
You'll have no chance unfortunately of reterminating that :(
Do you have any network cables to the location above the projector that you could use for HDBaseT?
