If you can find one (mine is a R2 NTSC import from Japan), the Version Integral is the one to get. This is the original Luc Besson cut and shows Matilda & Leon on her training missions. This was cut from the UK release on DVD & Video I think also in the cinema. Crucial to the plot is the explanation of the ring trick which makes Gary Oldman's last scene more complete. Only downside is that there is no menu, scene selections or extras at all.

    Hi :)

I also have Leon - but mine's the R3 Korean digipack version that has both the original and Director's cut. I'd only watched the original cut, but was intrigued by your post so I went and viewed the ring bit that you mention............and you're right - it definitely adds to the end scene ;)

The R3 is a little sparse in the extras department also, but has some tasty menu screens with bullet sounds in a rather impressive sounding Dolby Digital audio clip :D

Sounds like your version is better as mine has no menus at all. Still as long as the film is cut the way the director intended, that's the most important thing.

Thanks for that dvdmike - that's just the kind of info we're after ;)

I've read that the Superbit may have problems with a slightly lightweight bass channel? I feel a comparison review coming on!

    Cheers mate,

    Sigs

PS you wouldn't know what ratio the anamorphic widescreen picture is in, would you? Sorry for being a pain ;)

    Thanks :smashin:

Does that mean the Superbit v R1 comparison is coming soon? I noticed that it's in the "A - Z Review listings For quick access." but has been "blanked out"!

For the complete comparison - I have the one with the bad sound!
