Hi everyone,

I'd appreciate some advice please on a lense to upgrade.

I am currently using a Canon EOS 5D and an EOS 3, and my primary lense is the Canon EF 24-105mm 1:4 L IS USM.

I also have a Canon EF 100-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 USM, which I bought many years ago, and it is this lense that I feel is letting the side down a bit (when compared to the quality of my otther lense).

I'm worried that going to the 70-200mm L series that it doesn't really offer all that much above my 24-105mm and it seems some people are not sure about the quality of the 100-400 L series.

Can anyone suggest a replacement lense or lense combo that will improve on my 100-300mm?

Many thanks,
Marcus

I'd certainly consider the Canon 300 f4IS if a prime will do the job. Failing that, Sigma's 120-300 f2.8 is excellent.

You could always opt for a used 70-200/4L and 300/4IS combination.
