For eight years my Rel Strata has run with one outlet socket from the Yamaha Processor and left and right plugs into the Rel Strata Sub Woofer.

The Rel stopped working when I installed a new Denon Processor but kicked into life when I removed one of the plugs. My dealer say the Rel doesn't have a Left and Right Input (??) but that only one plug is required at both ends.

    Can anyone explain this please?

You only have to use one input as it's a mono-signal anyway, presuming you use the LFE out.
If you connect it to left and right channel-out of an amp, you can benefit from left and right inputs.
I don't know why it worked with the Yammy but not with the Denon.

I dont know how the Strata is, but my Q400 has a 0-db and a +12db inout, not left and right. Maybe that was what your dealer thought of.

I think it may well take a stereo signal but it's 'summed' at the input.
