    Hi there,

I need some advice on what could be wrong with my Kenwood Amplifier. It's a KA-4040R and identical to the one which is currently on ebay (it's not mine in case you were wondering!)

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3280&item=5743147388&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Basically, the sound from the left channel is very quiet/muffled whereas the sound from the right channel is perfect. The sound is consistently lower on the left hand channel than it is on the right (so it is dependent on the volume).

It does not matter what source I select, and it's not my speakers which are at fault.

Any ideas what could be wrong? The amplifier is 10 years old - is it dying? Or perhaps it needs a service (there's a lot of dust on the circuit board inside which I can see from outside the case)

    Cheers

    Joolz
