These are excellent amps with a very good phono stage, their standalone phono stage is about £400 so a total bargain here.

These also rarely come up for sale.

    Great price too.

Many thanks for the post Tony.

I do love this amp but I'm not using it to its full potential so thought it would be better off with someone who will.

I have thought if there are no takers I can at least use it for a very decent bedroom set up.

I looked for one for months earlier on this year ostensibly because the phono stage is the same as their current Elements PS @ £450 new but I ended up giving up and buying a Creek 5350SE for £350 and a Creek onboard phono module for £129 both of which are excellent otherwise I'd have bought this amp in a heartbeat.

Personally I'd be sticking an advert on both AOS & PFM and I'd be surprised if it didn't sell within days. The last one for sale on both forums sold for £450 back in January, I prevaricated and when I decided to make a move it was gone:(

I didn't realise the phono stage was still current, as a separate component, and was never aware to how good it is as I used the amp with a CD player. A modified Arcam CD93. It didn't sound lifeless after the mod, and paired with some Spendor SA1's it all sounded really good.

I actually bought it of someone from PFM some time ago. I should've thought to offer it they're first... And do my research! Maybe I should archive this as and put it on there for £450!

Yep I contacted Leema re the phono stage back in January and they confirmed that it is the same phono stage in their Elements phono stage with a slightly different set up for the amp version (rumble filter switched permanently on).

Those phono stages sell for about £300 SH.

Hey Eddie. After the posts above about how much the last one went for on PFM I'm reluctant to let it go for less than £400. I have been thinking about archiving this thread and putting it on there instead. Just haven't got around to doing it yet.

BTW guys, there's no MK2 version of this amp as far as I'm aware, the MK3 with the dac isn't supposed to be as good as the OP's amp.

I think i remember the AV Direct mode allows the power amp section of the Pulse to be driven with an external multichannel processor...nice touch

What's the power rating on this version 1 ? I can't seem to find the info on the net. Looks like 80w on later versions. Is it class a/b too ? Do you have the manual ?

    Hi Eddie.
Sorry I have had such a busy weekend and day at work I haven't been able to give this much thought. It's in the neck of my mind to make a decision and after tomorrow work will be less busy too. So I'll definitely provide an answer by Wednesday!

It is 80w and class a/b. I'm pretty sure I have the manual, need to dig around in the box but to be honest I'm so tired right now that seems too much effort! I'll confirm tomorrow.
