    Do the LEDs switch switch off or dim during dark scenes to improve black levels. I wonder if any of the other manufactures have any LED tvs planned.

    Most LCDs already does that. I just hope it will improves the black levels.

    I saw a panel with OLEDs that did that a while back, was crazy money though.

    LED backlights have been used for many years on PDA size and smaller displays. A lot of small displays have moved to CCFL even though it is more expensive because it gives a brighter and more even backlight.
