Lecson 1000 - can is use this for my speakers

Hi all,

I am a complete novice when it comes to tv video, dvd etc etc.

I have bought a Lecson 1000 DVD, a 28 inch Thompson tv, SKy Digital, and a 3 year old video player, and a pc with my mp3.

My question is,

Can I hook all these up through the DVD to the speakers or do I need to buy an amp of some kind.

ps - I have yet to buy the speakers.

If I did need to buy an amp, what type should I get, i.e. between 100-200 pound )

any help for a complete novice would be appreciated. I am basically hoping I can hook up the DVD rather than buying anymore stuff.
