    Hi all,

I am a complete novice when it comes to tv video, dvd etc etc.

I have bought a Lecson 1000 DVD, a 28 inch Thompson tv, SKy Digital, and a 3 year old video player, and a pc with my mp3.

    My question is,

Can I hook all these up through the DVD to the speakers or do I need to buy an amp of some kind.

ps - I have yet to buy the speakers.

If I did need to buy an amp, what type should I get, i.e. between 100-200 pound )

any help for a complete novice would be appreciated. I am basically hoping I can hook up the DVD rather than buying anymore stuff.

    thanking in advance,

    John.

Get yourself at least a 5.1 channels amp with pro-logic II, take a look at marantz, denon & Yamaha.
Some good prices, for all of these under £250 from www.richersounds.co.uk.

    Yamaha DSPAX620 £199.95
    Marantz Sr-4200 £199.95
    Denon avr-1802 £250.00

or there is a new amp from Denon the avr-1803 a 6.1 amp does all the sound formats you will need for £300 from www.unbeatable.co.uk
