    i second the P75...

not sure how to tell the firmware version...

when I called sales @LEC to chase my player the chap said that I was lucky as I had a player which on their system showed up as the latest firmware version (0.20 i think)...

I have emailed them for confirmation on firmware and RCE etc....will post back when they reply...

I was told by Toshiba yesterday that the latest firmware version was V 1.9! I have V 1.700. If you do have V 2.0 please tell me, so I can tell Toshiba they are wrong!

To check which firmware you have:

Switch on machine, press Zoom then 606 followed by Zoom again. This will tell you ROM 1 & ROM 2 versions (both the same on mine) and other info. I have tried to enter other numbers to get into the sevice menu's but to no avail. If anyone finds a way into any secret menu sections, let us know!

PS. Toshiba said that any new models will be disclosed at "ER" (what's that?) at the end of this month!

    Cheers Kane

Just checked and the firmware version on ROM1 & ROM2 is definitely v2.00.

Just tested playing Hollowman RCE after a R2 disc and all seems OK...

    Kane D Williams,
ER is a drama based at Chicago Cook County Hospital, you may watch it on C4 and E4.
Toshiba mean ER Show, the Electrical Retailing Show, this is an event held at NEC Birmingham to show new models to the trade.
At this event Toshiba will state that new models cannot be made Pal Progressive or Multi-Region capable. There is no demand for this as sales of R2 DVDs are exceeding expectations.
Leaving third parties to help enthusiasts.
Denon and Arcam are more awake.
