In glorious SD!As my contract comes to an end, BT are doing a £6 a month for netflix, now tv and their pvr. Bargain
Yes to both, Now is 720p and my TV upscales more than well enough. For day to day programmes not sure why Full HD is needed and if I want a high quality movie I'll use Apple TVIn glorious SD!
Can you add Premium to Netflix for UHD? What about Boost with NOW?
Fair point, I personally can't cope with SD but it is a cracking deal. I'm almost tempted to get it for my mum - she's already got BT broadband and watches everything in SD as it is...Yes to both, Now is 720p and my TV upscales more than well enough. Really the only SD viewing I'll get is Netflix, I have Now TV already for F1 for a month and the 720p upscaled was good enough for that so will be ok with the Entertainment channels on Now. The £6 doesn't even cover a Now TV pass (unless discounted) so anything else is a bonus. Not sure how they're making money, I guess they hope people will carry on once the 24 months are up.....Fair point, I personally can't cope with SD but it is a cracking deal. The 24 month contract is really the only downside isn’t it.
£144 for two years of entertainment ain't a bad deal though! The 24 month contract is really the only downside isn’t it.
Exactly, plus by doing this I got my broadband back at the pre-RPI increase price too£144 for two years of entertainment ain't a bad deal though!
Yeah I agree.£144 for two years of entertainment ain't a bad deal though!
My 31 days notice expires on 3rd March. Sky haven’t offered any deal to retain my custom after 21 non-stop years as a customer. Last night I removed the Sky Q and mini boxes and installed the new Freesat recorder box on the main TV. Works just fine. And the picture quality on HD channels is actually much better than via the Sky Q box it replaced, which is a pleasant surprise.
So that’s me now moved to Freesat for live TV and everything else will be streamed via Apple TV 4K - Netflix, Prime, Disney and Apple TV+. Trialling Now TV also.
I'm new to all this, I've recently cancelled my Sky subscription and in the 30 day period. What box did you get and can you pause/record as normal?
Sorry my bad - type - I believe it was £39 ish he was paying. Are you sure that existing price of £19 includes Sky TV and broadband?
That seems to be an absolute bargain he’s had.
All he can do is go online and chat or phone them, plead poverty and try to negotiate a cheaper deal.
All the contact options are under the “yes I still need help“ button at the bottom of this page.Is there an online chat or whatsapp service similar to virgin?
It appears the sky cancellation has blocked me from getting Now bb, might not be the case but very suspicious. Don't cancel sky bb if you want Now bb just to be sure, order it and let them do it.
I would definitely try to reverse the broadband cancellation. I can’t see why Sky wouldn’t agree to that.Hi, I'm not in a virgin enabled area however starting the process for talk talk or plusnet I get past the availability check so does that stop when I try to complete the order? Good advice about sky, to date they have only offered £30 a month for superfast guess a call wouldn't hurt.
That's a good point and one of the reasons I have just left. An 18 month contract means 2 increases every other renual, that resulted in a 13% increase during my last contract, if sky impliment it fully and things stay as they are it could be over 20 and getting on for 30. I liked sky broadband but the quoted £27 for superfast was to much. Thinking Now will provided the same service at £21 with £90 cashback for 12 months with free anytime and evening calls is a risk I'm willing to take.Very interesting thread
I cancelled Sky TV three years ago. After a few months I cancelled my TV licence as well. I now watch Netflix, Prime and that’s it. Even considering cancelling Netflix but not yet. I have converted all my movies and TV box sets to my NAS and I’m happy.
I still have Sky broadband because the service is good and Sky PPM mobile which is fine. Looked at the likes of Vodafone for broadband but customer service seems poor and like others they apply a 3.99% per annum increase PLUS CPI !
At the moment that’s 3.99% plus nearly 10%. That’s 14% which confirmed next March. Rip off
