Leadtek GeForce FX 5900 Video Card for a HTPC

Can anyone tell me how this card would rate in a HTPC. I am hoping to use TheaterTek among others. I have read that Radeon cards are ideal for theatertek because of codecs? (I have no idea what I've just typed, just quoting from previous posts). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Have an Asus avx8 deluxe (or something like that) D, I have a barton core 2500, 1 gb memory sata 120 hd x 2, 120 ide, 200 ide with qtec 550w power supply dvdrw in a coolermaster wavemaster case. Sounds like a jet taking off, looking to transplant what I can into desktop media case.

5900's are hot running beasts, and they don't have the enhancements that make Nvidia the way to go at the moment (6xxx series). You will have your work cut out keeping it cool and quiet!

Yes, the qtec is a bit noisy, sorry very noisy. Looks like I'll have to look for a different card as well then. The radeons seem to be quite popular for HTPC duties.

They were quite popular. The Nvidia 6200 and 6600's are getting the plaudits now. An ATI 9600 is still a nice card though.
