    Hi

I have two HDMI devices plugged in to my Samsung LE32M86BD and an optical out to a cheap surround unit.

The surround unit has coaxial and optical digital inputs.

The Samsung seems to only provide a stereo signal instead of the original AC3 or DTS.

Is this right or is it faulty? If it is correct is there any budget item that will give me surround sound?

    Setup:

    Upscaling DVD player (HDMI)
    XBOX 360 (HDMI)
    Sky+ (Scart)
Cheap surround unit with coaxial and optical and digital inputs.

    Thanks

It is correct TV's do not pass through AC3 or 5.1. You must connect direct to the AV unit with optical or co-ax for 5.1 sound.
