Hi i am just wondering why this is 15:9 and what effect that will have on tv/dvd watching? Is it anything to get annoyed about?!

Why didn't they make it 16:9?!!!

There are bucket loads of these 15:9 screens around. Most budget TV's are using them. I'm not really sure why so many have been manufactured, but I suspect it's a throwback to the PC monitor resolutions that have been used for a couple of years.

The effect whilst using then will be that , if you 'Fit to Screen' you will slightly squash the picture. Watching true 16:9 will leave black borders top and bottom.

is there usually a way to fill the screen? still a lot of dvds that are anamorphic still leave borders on my 16:9 sony idtv, which i am looking to replace for less intrusive set. Would an lcd be a worthwile swap (i accept the black limitations etc)
