    Hi

I hope someone can help me,

I spoke to a guy from LE Concepts today, and he assured me that they carry the GENUINE UK stock of the Pioneer VSA-AX10i amp - together with the full 2 year manufacturers warantee.

When i looked on pioneer's website, they are only listed as authorised dealers in Pioneer PLASMA screens.

An interesting extract from their website says the following :

" We will usually stock up to 20 pieces* of any one model in our warehouse, allowing a customer's order to be turned around in minutes and delivered on the next working day of placing the order"

..........then right at the bottom in very small print.............

    "...............*excluding plasma screens...."

now is that interesting or what ?????

Anyone know if they are who they say they are ? ( authorised dealers for Pioneer amps ? )

Or do i need to phone Pioneer and clarify......

I don't want to make the plunge and realise i bought a grey import !

    Thanks for the help

I bought my Denon 3802 from LEC and they assured me that all their stock was UK and not grey imports. I then find out from this forum that they are NOT Denon authorised dealer  so I just have to prey that I never have any problems with it.

Do a search on LEC for some very interesting thoughts about there service. My name tends to crop up a few times.

Surely this is just because plasmas are incredibly expensive and having a large stock would tie up a lot of money for a small company like that.

I bought a Pioneer 757ai DVD player from them, and found their service excellent. Had a problem initially that the player was cosmetically marked, and rang them on a Thursday (I think) when it arrived to tell them. They didn't have any instock, but sent a replacement out on the following Tuesday (5days later) which was fine and the old one was taken away by City Link. Great service in my case - don't know if its a grey import or not ... but as its been modified for multi-region doesn't have a Pioneer warranty anyway.

Ditto for me (without the problems). Really fast delivery, great product (656). Modded up and RCE. Grey or not they seem good to me. Would certainly buy from again!

If you actually search for their Mail Order postcode (DL14 0QF) rather than their Metro Centre store - LE Concepts are listed on Pioneers website for Plasma TV and also Home Entertainment.

I did not have a good experience with Leading Edge Concepts, back in May last year I ordered and gave card details for a Denon AVR 1802 and cables, they said it would be few days so it will be with me on Saturday.

I waited and nothing came, then I waited another week and nothing happened, so I phoned them I was told to wait a bit longer, nothing..... I phoned I was told they were out of stock, I waited, waited further eventually well over a month had passed since my call, so I phoned them again, they could not give me a solid answer on a receiver so I canceled my order and went elsewhere.

Mabye I was unluckly, but I would not ever use use them again after that bad experience.

My experiences from them are well document on these forums, and NO, even though they seem to have about the best prices around, I would NEVER use them again.

I got a Yamaha Receiver - definitely a grey import as it had 2 AC power outs, which is only available on a European (non UK) model

having recently contributed to this thread:

I did some searching to find this - I think this company has serious problems (or at least some of the customers do!)

One thing that worries me about LE Concepts is that they are a sponsor of this forum. People will join up for advise, see they are sponsors and have good prices and therefore think they can be trusted.
