Hi, I recently bought a Logik 1608 dvd recorder to record tv and camcorder footage, works fantastic, only problem is I can't fathom out how to edit footage which has been recorded on to a dvd. If any one can explain to me, in laymans language, I will be eternally gratefull!

I don't think you can edit footage on a dvd. You have to make your recordings to hard drive, edit on hard drive and then save your edited video files to dvd and then finalise afterwards to give you a dvd video you can use on other dvd players.
