I recently purchased a Samsung 15” LCD TV. At both the top and the bottom of the screen the picture is significantly lighter then the rest of the screen, resulting in what looks like a white mist. Is there anything I can do with the colour/contrast/brightness setting to minimise this?
Can anyone recommend a set for around £400 where this isn’t so much of a problem?

it sounds like a problem..... were it ubniform I could make suggestion but since the controls are global over the surface, what you do to improve top and bottom will adversely effect the rest. Have you made sure all connections and such are tight? Maybe you should consider returning the display

Sounds a lot like screen leakage/wash out - It might be worth returning the LCD for a replacement.
