flat screen television sporting an unbelievable 3840 x 2140 resolution and 8.29m pixels. Known as Quad Full High Definition (QFHD) this is a new record and creates a picture four times higher than the 1920 x 1080 high definition displays creeping their way onto the market now. For the record, it also sports a 1000:1 contrast ratio and luminance of 600nits.

    I want one :)

Computer monitors with resolutions like that have existed for some time, but they tend to be "not very cheap".

Interesting, but I wonder what the point of anything other than full 1080p is for HDTV seeing as the screen probably won't be able to anything more (unless from a computer).

Sounds to me like "I've got more pixels than you!"

Would make scaling better/easier I suppose if the vertical resolution was actually 2160. That way 2x1080 and 3x720.
